As I read through the Bible over and over again, I spend time studying, contemplating, listening, meditating and praying about what I read.
In the pressure of the moment, we often cannot focus on the real cause of our stress (or distress). We may be tempted to think only of the quickest way of escape --- such as blaming others. But I must focus on God's power and wisdom to help me deal with the real cause(s) of my stress or distress.
